Puerto Princesa, PI
Puerto Princesa's Underground River, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. The underground river is over 5 miles long and is longest navigable underground river in the world. The river is home to more than 800 plant species, including almost 300 trees, 195 bird species, 30 mammals, 19 reptiles, and eight bat species, some only found in the area. Interestingly there is said to be a waterfall within the cave. There is also a cave that measures 980 ft above the underground river.
To get to the underground river you have to take a boat to another island and hike through the forest to get the the entrance . Only a couple boats can enter at a time. Once in the boat you are given a helmet (was the bat poop or water that just fell on me...) and a head phones to listen to the facts of the river. Would def. recommend visiting if you get the chance. The last set of photos are from the crocodiles farm also in PP.
